This seems to have been happening to quite a few people now since as far as November however doesn't seem to have been acknowledged yet. This is a re-post but describes my issue perfectly. Discord and steam chat both work fine and voice chat in other games works fine so it definitely is an in-game issue related to Phasmophobia. I realise the game is early access but still that it works for him and not me is weird and i see how it could seem to be something on my end but we have all the same settings. could be that their headphones do a bad job cancelling sounds, like they need to replace their cushions if they have those type of headphones, or their volume is way too loud to the point where it leaks their audio. Plugging and unplugging mic and checking all cables The person I experienced this with did have 'local push to talk' disabled, but they were still using headphones.
Restarting game over and over just in case its the server Try putting your mic sensitivity at 0 in the settings. Quadruple checked that all mic settings are how they should be (voice recognition picks up and works) Ive tried absolutely everything and only just today have I been able to get it to work, but only if I have push to talk enabled. Then when you get further away from people you will need to push the walkie talkie button. Put this to off so you can freely talk without having to push a button. There you will see 'local push to talk' with is on by default. Change the push to talk key (live and beta) Go to options and then 'pc settings' then scroll down all the way. Shift: Run (heavy emphasis on the ) V: Local Push to Talk. Restarting game after changing in options (after both live and beta version) If i use PTT it works but if i turn it off it stops working For a friend of mine it works that he can play without push to talk and have a open mic i can hear him fine, but no matter what i try i cant get it to work.
